From which date is it possible to make a reservation?
It is possible to make an option for a stay at Arinella at any time up until mid-November when the reservations open. On this date, we will then contact you via email , to let you know that you can book and confirm your stay by contacting us.
How to make a booking?
Your booking to stay at Residence Arinella can be made directly through our website RESIDENCE ARINELLA by clicking on «Booking (availability is shown in real time, with secure payment). You can also book by email, or by telephone on +33 4 95 60 60 60 or via . You will receive a booking form to fill in and return with your chosen method of payment.
How to benefit from the best offers?
To make the most of any special offers, there are a couple of alternatives: by visiting our website you can follow any offers and promotions made by Residence Arinella all year long, and therefore book at the best price. Or, on the home page of our website, click on Special Offers, in the navigation bar.To get the best offers there are several options. The most obvious is to visit regularly our website, click on the option 'Prices' then 'Our Offers'. You can also follow our Facebook page or subscribe to our mailing list.
Are there any registration fees?
There are no registration fees.
What does the price include?
The price shown is the inclusive price. It includes the rental of the apartment with reversible air conditioning, the provision of bed linen with a weekly change, the water, the electricity, wifi access, the television, the telephone (excluding the cost of any calls), and free use of the professional barbecues in the garden.
Is there a safe in the apartment?
Yes, all of the apartments are equipped with a safe.
Are there any additional costs to add?
A deposit must be paid when you collect the keys. This is 300.€ /apartment payable by credit card. Your deposit will be returned to you on your departure day so long as there is no damage or other outstanding costs (missing or broken items, cleaning not done properly, lost keys...)
The tourist tax must also be paid. This is a local tax which we pay back to the community. It costs 1.21 € per person, per day from the age of 18.
Do we have to stay for the minimum of a week?
In high season, the stays are from Saturday to Saturday, or from Sunday to Sunday (minimum 7 nights).
In low season (from 23.03.19 to 08.09.19 and from 21.09.19 to 02.11.19), and dependent on availability, it is possible to arrive on any day of the week (staying for 7,8,9 nights or more) and also to have a short break (of 3 nights minimum).
How do I pay for my reservation?
At the time of making your booking, a deposit of 30% of the total cost is required to confirm the reservation. This is debited from your card once you make the reservation on-line. The remaining balance is due one month before your arrival date.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment methods accepted for both deposit and final payment are credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard ), or bank transfer. Your reservation will be made as an option, and you then have 3 days to send us your payment.
Is it possible to pay for the cost of the booking by bank transfer when we make the booking on-line?
As soon as you make an on-line booking, the deposit is automatically taken from your credit/debit card. However, once you have made the booking, you will receive by email a booking form to complete and return to us, and you can indicate to us then if you wish to pay the balance with another card or by bank transfer.
When I make my Reservation, can I choose where my apartment is located?
Special requests (for example: preference for ground or first floor) should be made to us at the time of booking; we will do our best to fulfil them, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Should I take out insurance in case of cancellation?
Residence Arinella recommends that you take out your own travel insurance. Often, if you are paying by credit card this may be included, but you would need to check with your Bank.
How can I change or cancel my reservation?
If you have made an online booking, you can change or cancel your reservation via our website. You just need to click on the link in your booking. Any cancellation request must also be made to us in writing by email, post or fax. The date we receive your communication will be determined as the date of cancellation. What are the charges if I have to cancel my reservation?
If you cancel more than 30 days before the start of your stay, we keep a 50€ cancellation fee. You will therefore receive a refund of your total payment less the cancellation fee.
If you cancel later, we keep the following percentage:
- between 30 and 21 days before your arrival date : 30% of your total cost
- between 20 and 8 days before your arrival date : 50% of your total cost
- between 7 days and your arrival date : 100% of your total cost
- In case of no-show : 100% of your total cost
If I have to cut short my stay, will I be refunded any of my money?
With the exception of the tourist tax, we are unable to make a refund as it is unlikely we will be able to re-let your apartment. If you have taken out travel insurance, this should cover your costs.
Are animals accepted at the Residence?
Animals under 5kg are accepted as long as you let us know about them at the time of booking, and subject to our confirmation. If you turn up with an animal without prior warning, the local Manager may refuse you entry, even if you have already paid. You must be in possession of your animal’s vaccination records/passport.
How much does it cost to bring an animal?
A charge of 42€ per animal and per stay. Only 1 animal is allowed in each accommodation, and the cleaning charge is also obligatory.
Do I have to pay for the cleaning?
There is no cleaning charge if you leave the accommodation as it was found on your arrival. However, if you do not do the cleaning, or if you are departing early (before the Reception opens at 8am) the cleaning charge is obligatory : 43€/apartment (Type 100) 46€ apartment (Types 101 and 102). 53€ apartment (types 103 and 104). We ask you to kindly empty your bin (recycling obligatory) in the containers provided, and to do the washing-up.
Is there a Wifi connection?
There is a free WiFi connection in each apartment. You will be given a password by the Reception on your arrival day in order to be able to connect to this. You are provided with one password per person, valid for 2 devices.
*Attention - because of the distance of our Residence from the main satellite, our average internet speed is 5MB, which will not enable you to download films or television.
Do you offer a hotel service?
Is the linen provided?
Bed linen is provided, with a change if you are staying for longer than a week. You can hire towels if you require them: 10€ per set and per change (1 set =1 bath towel + 2 hand towels).
What equipment is supplied in the apartments?
All of our apartments are equipped and ready to live-in. This comprises in general, of crockery and kitchen equipment, adequate to prepare a basic meal (fridge, 2 electric hobs), plus blankets and pillows. A full list can be found on our website in the apartment description.
What equipment does the kitchen have?
All the kitchens are reasonably equipped with the necessary crockery, cooking utensils, and electrical items (fridge, electric hobs, microwave). Some apartments have a dishwasher. None of them have a washing-machine.
How can I leave a comment about my stay?

Arrival - Departure
Is the total of the deposit debited from my credit card ?
No, the total is neither debited nor charged. It is simply a pre-authorisation. With our credit card machine, a request is made to your bank and the amount of €300 is blocked from your account. On your departure day, after the inventory is carried out, we will cancel this pre-authorisation. It is your responsibility to check with your bank that this amount is not going to affect your credit limit.
How much is the deposit and how can it be paid?
The deposit is 300 euros, and can be paid by cheque (in euros) or credit card.
Is it possible to arrive outside of the opening times?
Arrival time is usually between 4pm and 7pm, and departure time is before 10am. It is possible to arrive later but you need to let us know at least 48hrs in advance so that we can make arrangements for your key collection.
Is it possible to arrive after the Reception closes?
Yes, but you need to let us know in advance.
What do we do to get our keys if the Reception is closed?
If you are arriving after the Reception closes, you will find your keys, in a plastic wallet, attached to a large board on the wall outside the Reception entrance, marked Late Arrivals. The wallet will have your name on it, and will include the key to your apartment, a map of the Residence showing you the way to your apartment, and the magnetic key to enable you to open the electric gate. If the electric gate is closed on your arrival, you can enter the Residence via a small side gate to collect your magnetic key in order to open the main gate and enter with your car.
At what time can we get into our apartment?
Key collection is from 5pm, but there may be a possibility to enter your apartment earlier (from 3.30pm) if we are able to prepare it in advance. Please come to the Reception on your arrival, and the Receptionist will keep you informed if this is possible.
What is the procedure for check-in?
Please come to the Reception first of all with your booking reference, then we will complete the check-in process and take your deposit.
What time do we have to leave the apartment on departure day?
You must leave your apartment by 10am.
What do we do if we are leaving very early in the morning?
Please come to the Reception the day before your departure to arrange a check-out time for that evening, and to pay any final bills. Please ensure that you empty your bins and leave the apartment key in the letterbox at the Reception.
On the day of our departure, we must leave our apartment by 10am, but our ferry/plane is not until later on in the day. Is it possible for us to leave our car at the Residence, so that we can go to the beach?
Yes, of course. You can still go to the beach for your last day and leave your car here. There is also the possibility to use toilet and shower facilities (found by the tennis court).
Is bread available?
Yes, at the Reception every day (in low season you will need to order it).
Is there a train to get to Calvi town or to L’Ile Rousse?
Yes, the Tramway of the Balagne stops just below the Residence. This little train links the two towns and stops at all of the beaches en-route.
How do I get from Calvi airport to Residence Arinella?
You have 2 possibilities: book a taxi, or hire a car. We do not offer any transfers.
What supermarkets are open on a Sunday?
At the reception we sell many essential items, including bread and pastries, every day. In the village of Lumio (3km away) there are 2 small shops including a tobacconist. 4km away, on the main road to Calvi there is a Carrefour Contact supermarket open 7 days a week. In Calvi (11km) there are 2 larger supermarkets (Super U et Casino) one of which is open on a Sunday morning from 8.30am to 1pm.
Are there local markets selling local produce or clothing?
The clothing market in Calvi and L’Ile Rousse is held the 1st and 3rd Thursday and Friday of each month. Every morning there are also markets in L’Ile Rousse and Calvi selling local and regional produce. The local market in Lumio is every Wednesday morning.
How can we play Archery?
On your arrival day we will give you the timetable for the sports programme (only in July and August)
What are the train times for the trains to Calvi / Bastia / Corte / Ajaccio?
You will find the train timetables at the Reception.
Are there washing-machines at the Residence? How do they work?
At the Residence, we have a laundry room, with 2 washing machines and a tumble-dryer which work using tokens. (6€ for the washing machine, with liquid capsule -3€ for the tumble-dryer).
We are bringing bikes with us, where can we leave them?
You can park your bikes near to your apartment, or on your terrace.
I am disabled, and I use a wheelchair. Do you have suitable apartments?
Apartments Type 102 for 4 people which are suitable for people with reduced mobility – however these do not conform to the French law. Please ask us at the time of booking for availability of these apartments.
Are we allowed to have a BBQ on our terrace/balcony?
No. However, there are 2 professional BBQ’s in the grounds of the Residence for use free of charge (one for fish and one for meat)
Do you have baby equipment?
Yes, on request and depending on availability (cot, baby bath, high chair, free of charge).
Do you supply bin bags or toilet paper?
we recycle our rubbish?
Yes you can (le tri sélectif) – it is obligatory and we have bins at the Residence.
Can we hire sunloungers and parasols?
The Restaurant, Le Matahari, on the beach below the residence hires out sunbeds and parasols.

Can we receive calls from outside? How does that work?
You can receive external calls during the opening hours of the Reception (8am-12am- and 3pm -7pm).
Can you organise excursions for us?
What do we do to play tennis or table tennis?
For tennis you will need to make a reservation at the Reception (free of charge). In our Games Room there are 2 table tennis tables for your use (you will need your own rackets and bats).
Where can we watch television (football, rugby, etc.)?
In your apartment there is a flat screen TV (French satellite channels – no English).
Do you offer breakfast?

We are coming with 2 cars, what should we do?
There is no problem, there is plenty of parking space.
We have a trailer, what do we do?
There is plenty of parking space. Your trailer can be parked there.
Is the car park closed?
Yes, you have at your disposal a magnetic key to go in and out.
Where is the nearest doctor?
2,3km from the Residence, as well as the chemists.
Who do we contact in case of emergency during the night?
